Seeman, William A. (1892 - 1982)


William A. Seeman, 90, of Loyal, Clark County, died at 4:10 p.m., Dec. 25, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.


Funeral services were at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 28, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. Rev. Joseph R. Kraly officiated and interment was in the Loyal Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Frank Degenhardt, Alvin Fravert, Wilbur Kehrberg, Herbert Hinkelmann, Art Olson and James Wangen. Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, handled arrangements.


William A. Seeman was born to Michael and Ernestine Seeman on Nov. 25, 1892, at Kewaunee. He received his education at Kewaunee Schools.
On Sept. 22, 1914, he and Ida M. Picha were married. After their marriage, they lived in Brussels, where he was a cheesemaker. From 1921 to 1927, he owned and operated a cheese factory in Fisch Mills and in 1928 came to Loyal and purchased the Pleasant View Cheese Factory, which he operated until 1952.


In 1930, he built a gasoline and fuel oil bulk plant and while he handled the gas business, son Marvin was taking care of the cheese factory. For the mid-1930's, he became a charter stockholder in the Badger State Credit Co. in Greenwood. During the more than 30 years of his involvement, he was on the Board of Directors and Vice President, until hit was dissolved and sold to another firm. Bill, along with his wife, Ida, purchased the A W Rootbeer Stand in Owen in 1955, and ran it until 1958, when they retired.


Surviving him are one daughter, Mrs. Eileen Luther of Wausau two sons, Marvin and Roland (Bud), both of Loyal two sisters, Mrs. Laura Thibadeau of Green Bay and Mrs. Amanda Halderson of Two Rivers four grandchildren five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.


Preceding him in death besides his wife, Ida, on April 25, 1979, were his parents and 13 brothers and sisters.
