Caliebe, George (1890 - 1982)
Funeral services for George Caliebe, 92, of Rt. 2, Greenwood, Town
of Warner, Clark County, were conducted by Rev. Sam Kochel at 11
a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church,
Greenwood.
Mr. Caliebe died at 10:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1982, at hi
home.
The body was cremated. Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, was in charge
of arrangements.
George Caliebe was born on Dec. 16, 1890, in Outagamie County, Town
of Center, to Hennoch and Augusta (nee Wege) Caliebe. He received
his education at St. Paul Lutheran School, Appleton.
On Oct. 4, 1921, at Menomonee, Mich., he and Mabel Benson were
married. After their marriage, they farmed in Outagamie County.
Before his marriage he did construction work. In 1931, he moved to
the Greenwood area, where he was a construction contractor.
He was a World War I veteran and a member of Our Savior's Lutheran
Church, Greenwood.
He is survived by his wife, Mabel one son, Earl of Greenwood two
daughters, Miss Grace Caliebe of Skokie, Ill. and Mrs. Verna
Grabler of Greenfield one sister, Mrs. Matilda Reinke of Neenah
seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents two sisters and two
brothers.
