Petersen, Donald (1926 - 1983)
Donald Petersen, 57, formerly of Spencer, who had been residing at
St. Paul, Minn., died at his home in St. Paul, on Wednesday, Nov.
16, 1983, of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services were at Rux Funeral Home, Spencer, on Monday, Nov.
21, 1983, at 2 p.m. Rev. Kenneth Barnes officiated and burial was
in Veefkind Cemetery.
Donald Petersen was born on Jan. 27, 1926, at Mt. Vernon, S.D. to
Carl and Esther (nee Horn) Petersen. He received his education at
Veefkind School, graduated from Loyal, Clark County High School in
1944, and attended the UW-River Falls and the University of
Minnesota.
He worked for the soil conservation as a design engineer. He had
been employed in the Minnesota area for 30 years and in the St.
Paul area for the past 15 years. He was a veteran of World War II,
serving in the Army European Theatre.
Survivors include his mother, Esther Petersen of Rt. 2, Spencer one
brother, Norman Petersen of Spencer and one sister, Mrs. Paul
(Margaret) Giles of Eau Claire.
Preceding him in death was his father.
Rux Funeral Home, Spencer, handled arrangements.
