POPOVICH SAVOR KORENCHON
Popovich, Katherine (1898 - 1983)
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Michael Mertens at St.
Mary's catholic Church, Greenwood, for Mrs. John (Katherine)
Popovich, 85, formerly of Greenwood, Clark County.
Mrs. Popovich died early Thursday morning, Nov. 24, 1983, at
Memorial Hospital, Stanley. Mrs. Popovich had been residing at the
Thorp Care Center for the past three years.
Burial was in the parish cemetery, with John, Joe and Frank
Popovich, Frank and Dennis Pakiz and Floyd Plautz serving as
pallbearers. Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, handled
arrangements.
Katherine Savor was born on March 5, 1898, at Karasni VRH,
Yugoslavia. She received her education there.
On Jan. 6, 1923, she and John Popovich were married in Duluth,
Minn. She had resided in Greenwood for 25 years and was a member of
St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sons, John of Marshfield, Joe of Golden,
Colo. And Frank of Denver, Colo. one daughter, Mrs. Angeline
Korenchon of Chicago seven grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, three brothers and three
sisters.
