Mitchel, Lee (1927 - 2002)
OWEN - Lee W. Mitchell, 74, of Owen died Feb. 15, 2002 at Victory
Medical Center, Stanley.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday at St.
Katherine's Episcopal Church, Owen. Burial will be in the Riverside
Cemetery, Withee.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., Tuesday at Maurina Funeral
Home, Owen. Maurina Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Dec. 8, 1927 in Maywood, Ill., to Matthew and Ruth
Mitchell. He married Eleanor Freier on Jan. 23, 1960 and was a
veteran of the United States Army during World War II.
Mr. Mitchell worked for the NICOR Gas Company in Bellwood, Ill.,
for 30 years as a crew leader and also built an ultra light
airplane with his brother.
Survivors include his wife Eleanor, of Owen one son, Raymond
(Betty) Rose, of Leland, Ill. four daughters, Wanda (Harold) Novak,
of Ladysmith, Judy Willacker, of Owen, Luann Komraus, of Portland,
Ore., Cindy (Tim) Vannetta, of Scappose, Ore. 11 grandchildren, 12
great-grandchildren one brother, Matthew Mitchell, of Suring and
one sister, Gladys (William) Gillespie, of Bisbee, Ariz.
