Gosar, Frank (12 NOV 1888 - 25 JUL 1952)


Funeral services for Frank Gosar, 64, Greenwood, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard, with the Rev. John Novak, Junction City, the Rev. Augustine Svete, and the Rev. Fr. Bene, Willard, officiating. Burial was made in Holy Family cemetery.

Mr. Gosar, who died Saturday, July 25, was born Nov. 12, 1888, in Yugoslavia where he received his education. At the age of 17 he came to the United States and settled at Waukegan, Ill., where he married Mary Ann Remsgar Jan. 17, 1909. After his marriage he lived in Waukegan for four years before coming to the present farm northwest of Greenwood where he had resided since.

During the 40 years he spent in Greenwood he held offices in the Town of Eaton, on the Rocky Run School Board, and the Holy Family Church. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, the Catholic Order of Foresters, and the Holy Family Society.

He is survived by his wife, seven daughters, Sister M. Antonia, Stevens Point Mrs. John (Julia) Kuznacic, Chicago Cecelia Gosar, Neillsville, and Mrs. Frank (Mary) Artac, Mrs. John (Sophie) Trunkel, Mrs. Ignatz (Anne) Sladich, and Angeline Gosar, and one son, Anton, Greenwood.

Brothers and sisters surviving are Valentine and Tony, Waukegan Louie, Cleveland, Ohio and August, Angeline, and Johanna, Europe. Thirteen grandchildren also survive.

One son, and several brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

Stanley Volovsek, Jake Seliskar, Cyril Rakovic, John Kutzler, Ludwig Perushek, and Anton Trunkel, Sr., were pallbearers.
