Peroshek, Frank (8 SEP 1907 - 7 OCT 2000)
Frank Joseph Peroshek, 93, Greenwood, died on
Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at the Memorial Medical Center Nursing
Home, Neillsville. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., on
Tuesday, Oct. 10, at the Missionary Baptist Church, Greenwood. The
Rev. David P. Sommerfeld officiated. Burial was in the Greenwood
City Cemetery. Pallbearers were family and friends.
Frank Joseph Perovsek was born on Sept. 8, 1907, in Chicago, Ill.,
to Frank and Mary (nee Blatnik) Perovsek. In 1908, he moved with
his family to a Slovenian immigrant community called Willard. He
received his education in the school built by the new settlers. He
worked as a barn painter and later completed a correspondence
course in electricity. In 1930, he started a local band, in which
he played clarinet and saxophone. He played until 1937, when he met
Arlene Meinholdt and they were married. He worked full time as an
electrician and in 1941, began operating Peroshek Electric. After
his wife's death, he married Elaine (nee Belter) Nauertz. The
couple lived in Greenwood and he worked until 1987, at which time
he sold his business to John Schneider, Greenwood, who, with
Frank's son, Tony, currently operate Greenwood Electric. He
continued to reside in Greenwood until entering the nursing home in
November 1999. He was an avid bowler for many years in Loyal, and
was known for his love of hard work, especially his work with
electricity.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Peroshek, Greenwood their son,
Tony (Nichole) Peroshek, Greenwood, his daughters, Rebecca (Sam)
Parker, McComb, Ill., and Paula Peroshek, Woodstock, Ill. his son,
David Peroshek, Tomah his stepchildren, Terry (Lois) Emberson,
Loganville, Ill., and Linda Anderson, Eau Claire seven
grandchildren two great-grandchildren and three sisters, Rose
Salakar, Racine, Molly Johnson, Phoenix, Ariz., and Josephine
Trunkel, Willard.
He was preceded in death by his parents one sister, Mari and one
stepson, Randy Nauertz, in 1968.
Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, assisted the family with
arrangements.
