Plautz, Ida (11-Apr-1914 - 19-Jan-2001)
Ida Plautz, 86, Greenwood, died on Friday, Jan. 19, 2001. Funeral
services were held at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Holy
Family Catholic Church, Willard. The Rev. Joseph Follmar
officiated. Interment was in the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Barry Gall, Dave Gall, Mike Gall,
Tim Gall, Greg Volovsek, and Jeff Volovsek.
Ida Ockerl was born on April 11, 1914, in Butler, to Henry and
Helen Ockerl. She married Joseph Volovsek in April 1942, and had
five children. She married Joseph Plautz in August 1980. He
preceded her in death in 1997. Her greatest joy was seeing her
children grow and prosper. She traveled the world to visit them
wherever they made their homes, from Alaska to Idaho to France, and
throughout Wisconsin. She enjoyed animals, and always made sure the
birds living near her home were well fed and happy. She also
enjoyed hunting season and she usually bagged her buck.
Survivors include her children, Judy Volovsek, Dave (Mary Ellen)
Volovsek, Kathy (Tom) Gall, Susan (Phil) Thierman, and Ken (Shari)
Volovsek 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Joseph
Plautz.
Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with
arrangements.
