Services will be held Monday at 8:30 a.m. at the Hill Funeral Home
here and at 9:30 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard for
Frank Russell Sladich, 34 year old route 1 Greenwood farmer and the
father of 5 children, who died of leukemia Wednesday night, July
17, 1957.
Death occurred at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, where he had
been a patient since July 10. He had been in ill health for 11
months.
A rosary will be said at 8 o'clock Sunday night at the funeral
home, where friends may call beginning Saturday afternoon. The Rev.
Augustine Svete will be celebrant of the funeral Mass Monday and
interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Mr. Sladich was born in Greenwood, September 12, 1922 and graduated
from St. Mary's and Greenwood High Schools. He served in the Army
from 1941 to 1945 and following his discharge lived in California.
He married Anna Volovsek July 31, 1947 in Willard. They lived in
Chicago and Curtiss before moving to their present farm, 5 1/2
miles southwest of here, six years ago.
Their children are Katherine 8, Frank Jr. 7, James 5, Bernard 3 and
Daniel 2. Other survivors are his mother, Mrs. Johanna Sladich,
Fayette City, Pa. and a sister and five brothers, Mrs. Anna
Platnik, Fayette City Alvin, Monnesen, Pa Rudolf, Willard Phillip,
Klamath Falls, Ore. Ignatz, Greenwood and Joseph address unknown.
His father died March 20, 1953. four brothers and one sister also
preceded him in death.
