Nozar, Elizabeth (27 OCT 1915 - 4 FEB 2002)

Elizabeth "Betty "Nozar, 86, Oshkosh, formerly of Neillsville, died on Monday,Feb.4,2002,at the Mercy Medical Center, Oshkosh. Private funeral services were held at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville. The Rev. Craig Conklin of the United Methodist Church officiated. Music was provided by Eileen Zank, organist, and Jody Rueth, soloist. Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandchildren, Amy Hill, Adam Becker, John Becker, Julie Lebakken, Jeffrey Nozar, James Nozar Jr. and John Nozar Jr.

Elizabeth Mary Fulayter was born on Oct.27,1915,in Bessemer, Mich., to Joseph and Elizabeth (nee Hornyak) Fulayter. She attended various schools in Michigan and eventually moved to Chicago, where she met James Nozar. They were married on Feb.1,1936,in Chicago. In 1946,they moved to Thorp, and farmed. In 1948,they moved to Neillsville and farmed in the town of York. Her husband died in 1964,and in 1966,she sold the farm and built a home near Neillsville. She lived there until 1997,when she moved to Oshkosh. She was a former member of the Christie United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and her children, grandchildren and great-grand children.

Survivors include two sons, John J. (Muriel) Nozar Sr., Yuma, Ariz., and James F. (Mary Ann) Nozar Sr., Oshkosh one daughter, Carol A. (Allen) Becker, Loyal seven grandchildren, John (Jenny) Nozar, Yuma, Ariz., Julie (Randy) Lebakken, Oshkosh, Jeffrey (Lisa) Nozar, Oshkosh, James Nozar Jr., Oshkosh, Amy (James) Hill, Granton, Adam Becker, Loyal, and John Becker, Loyal two great-grandchildren, John Nozar III, Yuma, Ariz., and Mason Lebakken, Oshkosh two brothers, Louis (Lillian) Fulayter, Redding, Calif., and Julius Fulayter, Chicago and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband her parents and eight brothers and sisters.

The Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with arrangements.
