Wetzel, Carl (19 APR 1886 - 9 JAN 1985)
Carl Wetzel, 98, formerly of Greenwood, Clark
County, who had spent the past 15 years at the Marshfield
Convalescent Center, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 1985, at the
Marshfield Convalescent Center.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 1985, at
the United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Rev. Norbert Miller officiated. Pallbearers were sons of
granddaughters Keith Steiner, Mike Oestreich, Melvin Kloehn, Phil
Wall, Marvin Wendt and Milton Wetzel.
Mr. Wetzel was born April 29, 1886, in Lowell, Wis., Dodge County,
to Carl and Bertha (nee Ferarri) Wetzel.
He received his education in Dodge County schools. He married
Enanda Behringer on May 9, 1920 in Greenwood. Before his marriage
he farmed in Dodge County, then he farmed all his life in the Town
of Warner. In 1959 he retired and moved to Loyal and lived there
until 1969 when he moved to the Greenwood Home for the Aged.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Wilfred (Aurolia) Atcherson,
Unity, four granddaughters and four great-granddaughters.
He is preceded in death by his wife on July 13, 1959 his parents
one son, Junior Carl.
