Olson, Geneva (25 NOV 1921 - 26 JAN 1985)


Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 30, 1985 at Grace United Methodist Church for Mrs. Geneva (Toodie) Olson, 63, 105 S. Main, Greenwood, Clark County, who was stricken with a heart attack Saturday evening, Jan. 26, at her home and later died at Neillsville Hospital.

Rev. Norbert Miller officiated. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dale Severson, Robert Edwards, Danny Olson, Don Pasch, Dennis and Randy Thomas.

She was born Nov. 25, 1921 at Ontario, Wis. to Melvin and Altah (nee Sischo) Thomas. She received her education at Neillsville High School and Columbia Grade School. On Dec. 2, 1938, she married Maynard Olson in Neillsville and was later divorced. After her marriage she moved to Merrillan and lived there about four years. She then moved to Loyal and then to Greenwood in 1945, where she farmed for three years. In 1963 she bought the Greenwood Hotel and managed it until her death.

She was a member of Grace Methodist Church and a member of TOPS and the Royal Neighbors of America.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Delores Edwards, Milwaukee and Mrs. Billie Tauschek, Marshfield one son, Duane Olson, St. Francis, Wis. three brothers, Frank Thomas, Greenwood, Ralph Thomas, Loyal, and Dale Thomas, Milwaukee one sister, Mrs. Lester (Helen) Severson, Greenwood ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Rinka Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
