Clayton William Schultz, 72, Rt. 3,
Greenwood, Clark County, was killed Friday afternoon, Feb. 1, 1985,
when a feed truck tipped over on top of his car at the intersection
of Elm Dr. and Owen Rd.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 1985 at Grace
United Methodist Church. Rev. Norbert Miller officiated. Burial was
in the Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers sere Larry Schultz Jr., Dan
Schultz, Jeffrey Coyle, James Fowler, Jason Schultze, Merle
Tennant, Stacey Chilson and Lance Schultz.
Mr. Schultz was born Jan. 8, 1913 at Warren, Ill. to Gilbert James
and Alta (nee Clayton) Schultz. He received his education in
Warren, Ill. schools. On May 1, 1933 he married Gladys Stroud in
Wis. Dells. He farmed in Illinois and Wisconsin for many years. He
was employed as a millwright at Sunstrand Aviation for over 25
years before moving in 1963 to rural Greenwood, where he farmed
until 1968. In 1968 he became road patrolman for the Town of Eaton
until he retired in Sept. of 1980.
He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Violet Sheneman, Rockford,
Ill., Mrs. Lois Chilson, Greenwood, Mrs. Wilma Tennant, Greenwood,
Mrs. Sandi (Gene) Coyle, Almond, Mrs. Diane (Duane) Schultze,
Greenwood four sons, Clayton Schultz Jr., Rhinelander, Gordon
Schultz, Poy Sippi, Larry Schultz, Greenwood, Duane Schultz, Poy
Sippi one sister, Mrs. Garth (Clara) Sheley, Mountain Home, Ark one
brother, Clifford Schultz, Ladysmith 29 grandchildren and 15
great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife on July 31, 1979 his parents
four brothers and two sisters.
Rinka Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
