Tews, Melvin (7 JAN 1910 - 10 MAR 1985)
Melvin Tews, 75, of 307 W. Pine St., Spencer, died at Marshfield
Convalescent Center, Marshfield, on Sunday, March 10, 1985.
Services were Wednesday, March 13, 1985, at 1:30 p.m., at Trinity
Lutheran Church, Spencer. Rev. Wm. Ruhbusch officiated.
Interment was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Rux Funeral Home
handled arrangements.
Melvin Tews was born on Jan. 7, 1910, at Marshfield. He married
Hilda Schwantes on March 15, 1930. She preceded him in death. On
Oct. 11, 1956, he married Margaret Jacobs at Faith Lutheran Church,
Marshfield. He farmed in the Town of Sherman, Clark County until
1977, when he moved to Spencer.
He attended Veefkind School.
He served on the board of directors for Farmers Cooperative for
many years. He was presently a member of Trinity Lutheran Church,
Spencer.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret three daughters, Mrs. Lyle
(Jeanne) Henseler of Layton, Utah, Mrs. Clarence (Anola) Hagedorn
of Fond du Lac, and Mrs. Daniel (Ginger) Mortek of Marshfield six
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were one sister and his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Tews.
