RONALD YSTAD


Ronald Ystad, 61, Nekoosa, died Friday, Feb. 23, 1996, at Riverview Hospital, Wisconsin Rapids. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 1996, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Rev. Carl Kummer officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.
Ronald Ystad was born on Dec. 26, 1934, in Greenwood, Clark County, to Ralph and Eleanor (nee Olson) Ystad. He married Betty Lucas on Feb. 11, 1956, in Nasonville. She survives. He was a teacher for Nekoosa Public Schools for 29 years, retiring in 1990. Prior to moving to Nekoosa, he taught at Colby, Spencer and Marshfield. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and was honored as the Nekoosa Teacher of the Year in 1977.


Survivors include his wife his father of Greenwood three daughters, Debra (James) Schultz and Joan (James) Winkler, both of Nekoosa and Brenda Ystad, Madison one son, Brian (Patti) Ystad, Nekoosa nine grandchildren, Lisa, Lori, Beth and Luke Winkler, Matthew, Kristen and Kelly Schultz and Ashley and Kevin Ystad two brothers, Neil (Darlene) Ystad, Spanaway, Wash and Roger (Nancy) Ystad, Baraboo and one sister, Gwen (Bill) Plonty, West Allis.


He was preceded in death by his mother.
