Mortimer, Mariah (16 MAY 1893 - 13 JUL 1985)


Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, 1985 at the Rinka Funeral Home for Mariah Mortimer, 92, formerly of Loyal, Clark County. She died Saturday afternoon, July 13, 1985 at the Neillsville Memorial Home.

Services were performed by Rev. Norbert Miller of Grace United Methodist Church, Greenwood. Burial was in the town of York Cemetery. Pallbearers were Richard Eibergen, David Ayer, Clarence Hosely, Jack Ratsch, Ray Hetzel and Ernest Bird.

She was born May 16, 1893 in the town of York to Solom and Sarah (nee Smith) Davis. She received her education at Neillsville High School and attended a teachers training program.

On June 30, 1917 she married Ray Mortimer in Loyal. He died in Dec. of 1973. She taught four years in Clark County. After her marriage they farmed in the town of York until moving to Loyal in 1965. The past year she had resided in Neillsville.

She is survived by one son, Harold, Rock City, Ill. two grandsons and two great-granddaughters.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four sisters and two brothers.
