Gardner, Harold (17 SEP 1920 - 18 AUG 1985)


Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 1985 at the Loyal Cemetery followed by a 2 p.m. memorial service at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Greenwood for Hold Lee Gardner, 64, Withee, town of Reeseburg, Clark County. Alwyn York officiated the services. Pallbearers were sons and sons-in-law.

He was born Sept. 17, 1920 in Loyal to Floyd L. and Margaret (nee Zuege) Gardner. He received his education at East Beaver School. On Dec. 25, 1943, he married Jean Cook in Colby. The farmed at Rt. 1, Loyal until 1963. He was clerk of the school board of Sunny Knoll School and a member of A.S.C.S. committee for a number of years. In 1963 he moved his family to Rt. 3, Greenwood and in 1973 they moved to Rt. 1, Withee. He worked for Mattes Sale Barn for five years.

He is survived by his wife four sons, Raymond, Robert, both of Greenwood, John of Owen, Gerald of Austin, Tex. three daughters, Mrs. Fred (Nancy) Barth, Greenwood, Mrs. David (Betty) Pakiz, Crystal Lake, Ill., Mrs. Jerome (Judy) Bucheger, San Antonio, Tex. his mother and step-father, Ernst and Margaret Hinkelmann, Loyal one brother, Vern Gardner, Loyal three sisters, Mrs. Donald (Lucille) Sommers, Curtiss, Mrs. Harold (Lorea) Kollmansberger, Loyal and Mrs. Elmer (Velma) Gotter, Loyal and 17 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd L. Gardner.

Rinka Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be given to St. Joseph's Hospice Center.
