Schmidt, Harold (18 JUL 1919 - 16 Oct.
1985)
Harold Schmidt of Route 2, Argyle passed away Sunday morning at the
veterans hospital in Madison of cancer. The body will be cremated
and memorial services will be Oct. 19 at Argyle. Burial will be in
the Argyle Cemetery.
He was born July 18, 1919 in the Town of Beaver, Clark County to
Albert and Blanche (nee Francis) Schmidt. He moved to Loyal with
his mother after his father was accidentally killed in June 1923.
He attended Loyal schools. He was a veteran of World War II, having
served four years in the states and the South Pacific. He married
the former Elaine Johnson in Chicago, Feb. 15, 1944. They lived in
Chicago for 14 years and then moved to Union Grove for eight years.
They then moved to Union Grove for eight years. They then moved to
Argyle, where they have since resided.
Surviving are his wife, Elaine five children and six
granddaughters. They are Mrs. Edward Malley (Bobbi Jean) of
Phoenix, Ariz., Arthur Schmidt of Kenosha, Victor of Madison,
Claire of Argyle, and Mrs. Michael Keough (Lorri) of
Monticello.
He also is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Elmer Luepke (Genevieve)
of Racine and Mrs. Howard (Ila) Olsen of Route 1, Owen.
He was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Victor.
