Hillert, Richard (14 MAY 1891 - 3 DEC
1985)
Richard Hillert, 94, a former Granton, Clark
County area resident died early Tuesday morning at Memorial
Hospital, Neillsville, following surgery and a brief illness. He
had been a resident at Memorial Home for nearly two years.
Mr. Hillert was born May 14, 1891 in the town of Grant, a son of
Gottlieb and Augusta (nee Thiede) Hillert. He attended school in
the town of Grant and Maplewood's Lutheran School, Granton.
He married Amelia Trimberger, June 6, 1918 at Zion Lutheran Church,
Granton. She died Aug. 18, 1981. The couple lived on a farm in the
town of Grant and were members of Zion Lutheran Church, Granton. He
served on various church offices and also in the community.
Surviving are two sons, Theodore, Tomah and Richard, Melrose Park,
Ill. seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, five sisters and five brothers.
Services were held on Friday, Dec. 6, 1985 at Zion Lutheran Church,
Granton, with Rev. Herbert Biermann officiating. The organist was
Caroline Helm. Pallbearers were grandsons and friends. Burial was
in the church cemetery.
