Kostlevy, Dorothy E. (30 SEP 1918 - 14 OCT 2001)
Dorothy E. Kostlevy, 83, Loyal, Clark County, died on Sunday, Oct.
14, 2001, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services
were held on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at New Life Free Methodist Church,
Loyal. The Rev. Rick Brown officiated. Burial was in the Loyal
Lutheran Cemetery.
Dorothy E. Stuve was born on Sept. 30, 1918, in Humbird, to Howell
and Mabel (nee Stallard) Stuve. She graduated from Humbird schools.
She served at the Olive Branch Mission in Chicago during the
1940's. She attended UW-Superior, Madison, and Eau Claire, before
graduating from Greenville College in Illinois with a teaching
degree. She taught in Clark County schools from the late 1930's
until her marriage to Henry Kostlevy in 1948. They operated a dairy
farm in the town of Beaver for many years. She continued to
substitute teach while farming. She was a member of the New Life
Freed Methodist Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed
knitting, crocheting and traveling.
Survivors include three sons, Edward Kostlevy, Colby, William
(Gari-Anne) Kostlevy, Lexington, Ky, and Frank (Joanne) Kostlevy,
Caroline three grandchildren, Charles Kostlevy, Madison, Richard
Kostlevy, Caroline, and Rebecca Kostlevy, Caroline five sisters,
Phyllis (Neil) Green, Curtiss, Virginia (Jay) Bonney, Centralia,
Wash., Mary (Carl) Harms, Sturgis, S.D., Janet (Robert) Anderson,
Sturgis, S.D., and Gwen Pearson, Caroline three brothers, Ralph
(Lillian) Stuve, Arlington, Wash., Dwight (Norma) Sture, Wis.
Rapids, and Paul (Louise) Stuve, St. Paul, Minn. numerous nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Henry, on May 11, 1989.
Memorials may be given to New Life Free Methodist Church,
Greenville College, the Loyal Public Library, or the charity of
your choice.
Community Funeral Home, Colby, assisted the family with
arrangements.
