Mesar, Lorraine (21 MAY 1925 - 4 OCT
2001)
Lorraine Mesar, 76, Granton, Clark County,
died on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, at Memorial Nursing Home,
Neillsville. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct.
13, at Zion American Lutheran Church, Granton. The Rev. Tim
Schueler officiated. Music was provided by Marjorie Dahl, organist.
Interment was in the Zion American Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Lorraine Gertrude Ann Geldernick was born on May 21, 1925, in
Chili, to James and Gertrude (nee Croell) Geldernick. She attended
grade school in Chili and went to Marshfield High School. After her
schooling, she worked at Wenzel Farms for a short time before
marrying Joseph Mesar on June 20, 1943, in Granton. They started a
family and farmed in the town of Grant. They farmed until 1980,
when their son and daughter-in-law took over the farm. She was a
member of Zion American Lutheran Church, Granton.
Survivors include one daughter, Bonnie (Gary) Bartz, Granton two
sons, William (Marge) Mesar, Iola, and Joseph "Jim" (Janice) Mesar,
Mesa, Ariz. eight grandchildren five great-grandchildren two
sisters, Betty Everts, Downers Grove, Ill., and Pauline (Hubert)
Weber, Downers Grove, Ill. five brothers, Willard (Darlene)
Geldernick, Chili, Robert (Sharon) Geldernick, Marshfield, Richard
(Marge) Geldernick, Oklahoma, Harold (Lorraine) Geldernick, Downers
Grove, Ill., and James Geldernick, Downers Grove, Ill. and many
nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Joseph, in 1992 three
brothers, William, Francis and Howard and her parents.
Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with
arrangements.
