Ewert, Milford Donald (12 MAR 1933 - 13 OCT
2001)
Milford Donald Ewert, 68, Owen, Clark County,
died on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, at his home. Funeral services were
held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Maurina Funeral Home,
Owen. The Rev. Terrie Blomberg officiated. Burial, with full
military rites by the Colby VFW, was in St. Paul's Lutheran
Cemetery, Town of Colby. Pallbearers were Doug Zimmer, Josh
Stumpner, Melvin Ewert, Bill Ewert, Roger Venet, Randy Porath,
Dennis Ewert and Allen Thieme.
Milford Donald Ewert was born on March 12, 1933, in Marshfield, to
Arthur and Etta Mae Ewert. He attended Colby schools. He married
Shirley Stasek on July 7, 1957. He did different jobs in his
lifetime. He farmed and worked in the woods before spending two
years in the U.S.. Army. He farmed and worked as a milk hauler for
four years as a carpenter for two years at O N Lumber, Owen as a
cement man for six years for Anderson Construction as a truck
driver for four years at United Building Center, Owen as a lime
hauler for 10 years for Abby Ag Lime and 4X Corp. for Pea Cannery,
Owen and for the Loyal Bean Cannery. He was then the owner and
operator of Ewert Trucking and Construction. He did all of this and
farmed until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley, Owen a daughter, Brenda (Doug)
Zimmer, Owen four grandchildren, Brandi (Travis) Arndt, Joshua
Stumpner, Ashley Zimmer and Lindsey Zimmer one great-grandchild,
Erica Arndt three brothers, Myron (Cecil) Ewert, Colby, Melvin
(Jeanet) Ewert, Germantown and Norman (Judy) Ewert, Eau Claire.
Preceding him in death were his parents and twin sons, gene and
Dean ewert.
Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, assisted the family with
arrangements.
