Wickersham, Gary Lee (28 SEP 1957 - 12 OCT
2001)
Gary Lee Wickersham, 44, Colby, died on
Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, at St. Joseph's Hospital Palliative care,
Marshfield, due to injuries sustained from a car accident. Funeral
services were held on Monday, Oct. 15, at 3 p.m., at Christ
Lutheran Church, Abbotsford. The Rev. Dr. Paul C. Hunsicker
officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were
John Prestebak, Brian Loucks, Kevin Mews, Roer Weideman, Steve
Halopka, and Dave Carlson.
Gary Lee Wickersham was born on Sept. 28, 1957, in Burlington, to
Glen and Audrey (nee Krueger) Wickersham. He was a 1976 graduate of
Abbotsford High School and continued his education at Wausau
Technical School. He married Kris Kjell on Aug. 9, 1986, at Christ
Lutheran Church, Abbotsford. He was part owner of the Wickersham
Jewelry family business and excelled in clock restoration and
goldsmithing. He was associated with the Wisconsin Jewelers
Association and the National Retail Jewelers organization. He was a
member of Christ Lutheran Church. An outdoorsman, he especially
enjoyed hunting and gathering maple syrup. He was a member and
president of the RIP Riders Snowmobile Club, a member of the Christ
Lutheran dart ball league, Range Boys trap shooting and the
National rifle Association.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Kris, Colby his parents,
Glen and Audrey Wickersham, Colby one daughter, Kaela Wickersham,
Colby one son, Kyle Wickersham, Colby his maternal grandmother,
Adeline Krueger, Colby one sister, Deb (Victor) Borgemoen, Colby
two brothers, Robert Wickersham, Colby and Jeff Wickersham, Wausau
his father-in-law, Robert Kjell, Janesville two sisters-in-law,
Karen Kjell, Janesville, and Katy (Mike) O'Shea, Stoughton two
brothers-in-law, Paul Kjell and John (Stacy) Kjell, both of
Janesville many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his maternal grandfather, Laurence
Krueger and paternal grandparents, Louis and Leona Wickersham.
A memorial will be established in his name at a later date.
Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford, assisted the family with
arrangements.
