Reinart, John (25 AUG 1924 - 16 OCT 2001)

John Reinart, 77, Neillsville, Clark County, died on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, at his home. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 19, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Neillsville. The Rev. Woodrow Pace officiated. Music was provided by Ronald Resong, organist, and Rita Kuchenbecker, soloist. Burial was in St. Mary's catholic Cemetery, Neillsville. Honorary pallbearer was Shawn Reinart. Pallbearers were Clark Lonning, Jonathon, Reinart, Kelly Reinart, Richard Reinart, Rollin Reinart and Randall Reinart.

John Donald Reinart was born on Aug. 25, 1924, in Ladysmith, to Martin and Daisy (nee Noll) Reinart. When he was 1 year old, his family moved to the Neillsville area, where they farmed in the town of Washburn. After graduation, he farmed with his brother, George, on the family farm, which he purchased from his mother. He married Velda Dahnert on Aug. 17, 1948, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Neillsville. They continued farming and he purchased an insurance agency from Ralph Short. He worked as an insurance agent, along with his farming duties, for about 12 years before selling the agency. In 1979, they moved up the road off of the farm. John continued to farm, but his son, dale, also worked with him. In 1985, he retired and his son took over the operations of the farm. In 1996, he sold the farm to his son. During his retirements, he had many hobbies, loved dancing, and enjoyed all outdoor activities. He was a member of st. Mary's catholic Church, Neillsville, and also was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a past Board member of the Neillsville Co-op, the ASCA (Currently known as the FSA), and the Clark Electric Co-op.

Survivors include his wife, Velda three sons, Wayne Reinart, Slinger, Dale (Beverly)) Reinart, Neillsville, and Lee (Jill) Reinart, Neillsville one daughter, Judy (Kent) Lonning, Neillsville 13 grandchildren, Clark, Holly and Yvon Lonning, Jonathon, Rhonda, Kelly (Rachel), Richard, Jenny, Rollin, Randall, Shawn, Melissa and Tanya Reinart two brothers, William (Lorene) Reinart, Tomah, and Lawrence Reinart, Wind Lake two sisters, Irene Turner, Neillsville, and Marie Lepke, Neillsville one brother-in-law, Ted Schultz, Wind Lake one sister-in-law, Carol Reinart, Sparta and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents six brothers, Arnold, Martin, Joseph, Clarence, Peter and George and two sisters, Lillian and Susan.

Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with arrangements.

Reinart, John Donald (25 August 1924 – 23 October 2001)

John Reinart, age 77, of Neillsville died Oct. 16 at his home.

John Donald Reinart was born Aug. 25, 1924, in Ladysmith the son of Martin and Daisy (Noll) Reinart. When he was one year old, his family moved to the Neillsville area, where they farmed in the Town of Washburn. John attended the Shortville Grade School and graduated from Neillsville High School in 1943.

After graduation, he farmed with his brother, George on the family farm, which John had purchased from his mother.

On Aug. 17, 1948 John was united in marriage to Velda Dahnert at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. They continued farming and John also purchased an insurance agency from Ralph Short. He worked as an insurance agent, along with his farming duties for about 12 years, before selling the agency.

In 1979, John and Velda moved up the road off the farm. John continued to farm, but now his son, Dale was also working with him. In 1985, John retired, and Dale took over the operations of the farm all together. And in 1996, John and Velda sold the farm to Dale.

During his retirement, John had many hobbies, but his main love was dancing. He also enjoyed all outdoor activity, including fishing, hunting, camping, 4-wheeling and snowmobiling to name a few. He was a member of St. Ma4ry’s Catholic Church in Neillsville and also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a past board member for the Neillsville Co-op, the ASCA (formerly known as the FSA), and the Clark Electric Co-op.

John was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

John is survived by his wife, Velda; three sons, Wayne of Slinger, Dale (Beverly) and Lee (Jill), all of Neillsville; one daughter, Judy (Kent) Lonning of Neillsville; 13 grandchildren, Clark, Holly and Yvon Lonning, Jonathon, Rhonda, Kelly (Rachel), Richard, Jenny, Rollin, Randall, Shawn, Mellisa and Tanya Reinart; two-brothers, William (Lorene) of Thoma, and Lawrence of Wind Lake; two sisters, Irene Turner and Marie Lepke both of Neillsville; one brother-in-law, Ted Schultz of Wind Lake; one sister-in-law Carol Reinart of Sparta and many nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Arnold, Martin, Joseph, Clarence, Peter and George; and two sisters, Lillian and Susan.

The Mass of Christian Burial was held Oct. 19, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. The celebrant was Fr. Woodrow Pace. Music was provided by Ronald Resong, organist and Rita Kuchenbecker, soloist. Interment was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Neillsville.

Casket bearers were Clark Lonning, Jonathon, Kelly, Richard, Rollin and Randall Reinart. Honorary Casket-bearer was Shawn Reinart.

The Gesche Funeral Home assisted John’s family with arrangements.
