MARTIN KOKALY JR.
Martin Kokaly Jr., 91, formerly of Willard,
Clark County, died Tuesday, June 4, 1996, at Memorial Nursing Home,
Neillsville.
No service was held. Burial was in Willard National Cemetery at
11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 1996.
Martin Kokaly Jr. was born on June 10, 1904, in Sunnyside, Utah, to
Martin Sr. and Josephine (nee Smolich) Kokaly. He lived in a mining
camp during his early years until the family migrated to Willard in
1913 or 1914. He received his education at Willard School.
He spent his bachelor years doing odd jobs around Willard, while
intermittently working in Milwaukee American Motors and at the
steel mills in Chicago. He married Ann Plautz on Aug. 18, 1945, in
Willard. They farmed in the Willard area until retiring in 1964. He
had resided the last 12 years at the Neillsville Memorial Home. He
was the Wheat Commissioner for the Town of Hendren and a member of
S.N.P.J. Slovenian Lodge 198.
Survivors include one daughter, Marcia (Daniel) Cholka, New Berlin
one grandson, Robert J. Benton one brother, Ed (Fran) Kokaly and
two sisters, Emilie Ross, Houston, Texas and Avis Hartman, Normal,
Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents one brother, Reinhold
(Rose) Kokaly and one sister, Edna (Joe) Pufka.
Rinka Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family will be greatly
appreciated.
