Stone, Marilyn W. (20 MAR 1945 - 28 NOV
2001)
Marilyn W. Stone (Sveinsson), 56, Loyal,
Clark County, died on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, due to injuries
suffered in an automobile accident near Owen. Funeral services were
held at 11 a.m., on Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, at St. Katherine's
Episcopal Church, Owen. The Rev. Guy Usher officiated and the Rev.
Roman Kaiser of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, co-officiated.
Burial was in St. Anthony's catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were
Bonnie Williams, Greg Williams, Phil Stone, John Mayhall, Bernard
Lindgren and Ted Smith.
Marilyn W. Stone was born on March 20, 1945, in Detroit, Mich., to
Kenneth and Gertrude (nee Johnson) Stone. She attended Roosevelt
grammar school and York High School in Elmhorst, Ill. They moved to
Loyal in 1981. She had many friends and was a helper in the
community. She was a member of the Historical Societies in
Marshfield and Clark County and enjoyed sewing, reading, crafts,
craft sales and simply getting in her car and driving.
Survivors include her husband, Sam Sveinsson, Loyal two sisters,
Martha (John) Williams, South Carolina, and Kathryn (Dave) Janke,
River Forest, Ill. one brother, Phillip (Paula) Stone, Naperville,
Ill. three sisters-in-law, Joan (Lawrence) Schmidt, Rockford, Ill.,
Olive (Walter) Reading, Scottsdale, Ariz., and Chloe (John)
Mayhall, Rockford, Ill. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents and a sister, Eleanore.
Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, assisted the family with
arrangements.
