Johnson, Calvin (22 MAY 1928 - 26 FEB
1984)
Calvin (Kelly) Johnson, 55, of Route 1,
Loyal, Town of Unity, Clark County, died Sunday at about 5:17 p.m.,
Feb. 26, 1984, in the emergency room at St. Joseph's Hospital,
Marshfield.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 1, 1984, at
Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Greenwood. Officiating will be Rev.
Joseph R. Kraly, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. Burial
will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, with friends and relatives
serving as pallbearers.
Visitations will be at Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, after 4 p.m. on
Wednesday.
Calvin Johnson was born to Sigward and Olga Johnson on May 22,
1928, in the Town of Unity. He received his education at Pleasant
Ridge and graduated from Loyal High School in 1946.
He and Shirley McDaniel were married on Dec. 17, 1953, at
Farmington, Mo. After their marriage, they lived for six years in
Missouri, then in 1960 they moved to the Town of Unity, where he
farmed. He was a volunteer fireman for Spencer for 15 years and was
a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the Marines fro 1952
to 1954.
Full military rites will be conducted by the Unity American Legion
Post 358.
Surviving him are one son, Ron of Spencer one daughter, Sue of
Marshfield one sister, Mrs. Louis (Ila) Felton of Spencer two
brothers, Raymond of Loyal and Edward of Marshfield and two
grandchildren.
Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, is in charge of arrangements.
