Walter Berthold, 82, of 302 Second St., Loyal, Clark County, died at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville, on Saturday, May 26, 1984.

Funeral services for Mr. Berthold were at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 30, 1984, at Rinka Funeral Home. Officiating was Rev. Joseph R. Kraly. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Walter Berthold was born to Herman and Louis (nee Gorsegner) Berthold on Aug. 18, 1901, at Granton. He never married.

He farmed in the Tioga area (Willard). He also worked for Barr Minkery for seven years.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents four brothers and two sisters.
