Metcalf, Grace (16 AUG 1911 - 21 SEP 1984)
Funeral services were performed by Rev. Carol Carroll on Monday, Sept. 24, 1984 at United Church of Christ in Owen at 11 a.m. for Mrs. Grace Metcalf, 73, formerly of Greenwood, Clark County, who died Sept. 21, 1984 at the home of her daughter at Fridley, Minn.

Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Denis Jones, Gary Metcalf, Allan Dallman, Larry Dallman, Elmer Haslow and Henry Buss.

She was born Aug. 16, 1911 to John and Emma (nee Dagnan) Longridge in Greenwood. She received her education at Greenwood High School, graduating in 1929, she also attended Cosmetology School at Sioux City, Iowa. On Aug. 2, 1935, she married Leroy Metcalf in Greenwood. After their marriage they farmed in the Town of Reseburg until 1971. She then moved to Owen and resided there until Aug. 1983. Since then she has been living with her daughter.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her husband on April 29, 1971 her parents and two brothers.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Delbert (Gladys) Jones, Hutchinson, Kan. one brother, Emmitt Longridge, Shreveport, La. two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Joan) Groenke, Minn., Mrs. William (Carol) Saulisberry, Woodland Park, Col. one son, Ronald Metcalf, Gheen, Minn. five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Rinka Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
