Thorson, Wilda A. (1 JUL 1930 - 30 NOV 1984)


Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 1984 at Newark Southern Baptist Church, Newark, Ill. for Mrs. Clifford (Wilda A.) Thorson, 54, of Route 1, Greenwood, Clark County. She died shortly before noon on Friday, Nov. 30, 1984. The Rev. Thoma A. Winchester and the Rev. Charles E. Saletri officiated. Burial was in Millington-Newark Cemetery, Newark.

A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at Missionary Baptist Church, Greenwood, and visitation will be there from 7 p.m. until services. Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, is in charge of local arrangements.

The former Wilda A. Thompson was born July 1, 1930 in Ottawa, Ill., a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Loren (Blanche Moore) Thompson of Ottawa, Ill., and was educated in schools there. She was employed at a hospital there for a short time and on May 17, 1952 in Ottawa, she was married to T. Clifford Thorson.

The couple farmed in the Lake Geneva area for 10 years, and also lived in Newark, Ill. for four years. Eight years ago they moved to a farm in the Town of York. She presently was employed at Ben Franklin Store in Neillsville.

A member of Missionary Baptist Church, Greenwood, she is survived by her husband three daughters, Mrs. William (Sheila) Meerstra of Durham, Ontario, Canada, Mrs. Carl (Sheri) Luchterhand of Madison and Sabrina Thorson of Eau Claire her parents, three brothers, James Thompson of Wapello, Iowa, Keith Thompson of Amelia, La., and Terry Thompson of Gulfport, Miss. and four grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Dale and Mark.
