Hales, Verla (16 DEC 1900 - 12 DEC 1984)
Mrs. Loren (Verla) Hales, 83, of Granton, Clark County, died at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 1984 at Memorial Hospital in Neillsville as the result of a traffic accident earlier in the day.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 15, at 11:30 a.m. at United Methodist Church, Granton. Burial was in the York Center Cemetery. Rev. C. Arlene Denzer officiated. Charlotte Drescher was the organist. Pallbearers were Jay Hales, David Ringquist, David Miller. Greg Steiner, Robert Dudei and David Hillert.

She was born Verla Rowe on Dec. 16, 1900 in the Town of York. She received her education at Merryvale School in the Town of York. She lived in the Town of York until 1964 and then moved to Granton. On Sept. 23, 1923, she married Edward Dahl. In 1954 she married Loren Hales.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Granton.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. William (Hazel) Miller, Clintonville one son, Alvin Dahl, Loyal three step-daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Dudei, Granton Mrs. John (Marjorie), Eid, Winneconne Mrs. Francis (Jeanette) Steiner, Granton one step-son, Bert Hales, Granton 20 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Loren, who died Sept. 1, 1962 one brother, Milford Rowe, one step-son and one step-daughter.

Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, handled the arrangements.
