Olson, Christine H. (11 SEP 1912 - 20 MAR
2002)
COLBY - Christine Olson, 89, Colby, died
March 20, 2002, at the Continental Manor Nursing Home in Abbotsford
where she had resided since August 2001.
Funeral services for Christine will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St.
Peter Lutheran Church in Dorchester. Rev. Jerome Freimuth will
officiate. Burial will be in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation with family and friends will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today
at the Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford and from 10 a.m. until
service time Saturday at the church in Dorchester.
The former Christine Hulda Landwehr was at born Sept. 11, 1912, at
Nasonville, the daughter of John and Amelia (nee Freiburg)
Landwehr. Christine and Oscar E. Olson were united in marriage on
Oct. 21, 1931, at the parsonage at McMillan Lutheran Church. They
celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1981.
Christine and Oscar operated the family farm in the town of Holton,
rural Dorchester, until 1973 and moving to reside in Abbotsford.
They enjoyed traveling far and near. A homemaker, Christine had a
special love for her family and also enjoyed playing cards,
needlework and sewing. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran
Church and the Ladies Sewing Circle, and the Abbotsford Library
Club.
She will be dearly missed by her family: three daughters, Jean
(Herb) Schilling of Colby, Judith (Russell) Stollfuss of Rosendale
and Marjo (Harry) Hughes of Ripon two sons, Galen (Thelma) Olson of
Wausau and Ronald (Karen) Olson of Wausau 16 grandchildren, four
step-grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law,
Ruth Malchow of Menasha.
Preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Olson on Aug. 16, 1997 a
son, Arlen in 1934 granddaughter Pamela Stollfuss and grandson
Randy Brock five brothers and three sisters.
