Bymers, Ethel (14 FEB 1911 - 20 MAR 2002)
SPENCER - Ethel E. Bymers 91, formerly of
Spencer, died Wednesday March 20, 2002 at Clark County Health Care
Center. Owen. Funeral services will be a 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23,
2002, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. Burial will be in West
Spencer Cemetery, town of Spencer, Clark County. Rev. Karl Rose
will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jerome Bauer, Ray Lawrence,
Mike Bymers, Dave Atkinson, Tim Foss, and Steve Reckner.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Community Funeral
Home, Spencer and from noon until service time at the church on
Saturday.
Ethel was born February 14, 1911 in the town of Sherman, Clark
County to Albert and Lydia (Hoops) Vanderhoof. Ethel and Paul
Bymers were married September 14, 1932 at Salem Lutheran Church,
Veefkind. He died September 3, 1968. She farmed with her husband
until 1961 when they moved to Spencer. She worked at the "Butch"
Schultz Meat Market and Locker Plant until it was sold. She then
worked in the sewing department of Pathfinder Homes until she
retired. She was an excellent homemaker and cook all her life. She
enjoyed gardening, flowers and bus tours with friends and in the
later years with her close friend Elmo Barker. She was baptized,
confirmed, and married at Salem Lutheran Church, Veefkind, and was
a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Ethel is survived by her son Roger (Mary Ann) Bymers of Spencer
five grandchildren Mike (Jeannette) Bymers of Neillsville, Linda
(Jeff) Reckner of Spencer, Roxanne (Dave) Atkinson of Spencer,
Pamela (Tim) Foss of Silver Lake, MN, and Tonia Bymers of
Hutchinson, Minn., seven great-grandchildren Steven, Stacey, Todd,
Alek, Matthew, Tyler and Payton.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters,
Alvira Voelker and Coba Vanderhoof.
