Kirchner, Elmer M. (22 JUN 1923 - 7 MAR 2002)


Elmer M. Kirchner, 78, Owen, Clark County, died on Thursday, March 7, 2002, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 11, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Globe. Burial was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. The Rev. Kevin Hanke officiated. Pallbearers were sons Earl R. Kirchner, Douglas A. Kirchner, Kurt S. Kirchner, Paul S. Kirchner, and Elmer "Kim" Kirchner, and grandson Joshua C. Kirchner.

Elmer Kirchner was born on June 22, 1923, in Spokane, Wash., to George and Elise (nee Harris) Kirchner. He married Ellen Boice on Nov. 9, 1947, in Kingston, N.Y. They farmed in New York and Kenosha until they retired and moved to the Longwood area in 1986. He also worked in trucking. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen, Owen four daughters, Ellen K.
Gvozdenovic, Kenosha, Nellie A. (Greg) Hollatz, Boulder, Mont., Susan L.
Kirchner, Kenosha, and Gayle S. (John) Morman, Kenosha five sons, Earl R. (Marilyn) Kirchner, Fond du Lac, Doug A. (MaryLou) Kirchner, Owen, Elmer "Kim" (Janet) Kirchner, Cecil, Kurt S. (Debra) Kirchner, Schofield, and Paul S. (Linda) Kirchner, Suring 35 grandchildren eight great-grandchildren and one brother, Ernst Kirchner, Daytona, Fla.

Preceding him in death were his parents three half brothers, Merle Lovgren, Andrew Lovgren and Dean Lovgren and two sisters, Anna Kirchner and Inice Kirchner.

Maurina Funeral Service, Owen, assisted the family with arrangements.
