Lesar, Mary L. (10 MAY 1911 - 30 MAR 2002)

WILLARD - Mary (Mrs. John) L. Lesar, age 90, of Marshfield, formerly of Willard, died at 5:40 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2002, in Marshfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. Rev. Joseph Follmar will officiate and burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church with an 8 p.m. Rosary Service and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday, also at the church.

Cuddie Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Mary Leona Koschak was born May 10, 1911, in Willard, the daughter of Louis Sr. and Johanna (Puss) Koschak. She was raised in Willard on the family farm and educated at the Willard State Graded School. She remained on the family farm until moving to Waukegan, Ill., in October of 1929 to seek employment. She moved back to Willard in April of 1930 to work for her brother, Iggie, at the North Hendren Dairy. She continued to work at the dairy until October of 1932.

Mary was united in marriage on June 29, 1933, to John R. Lesar at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. They farmed in the town of Gorman for several years until moving back to the family farm to help her brother, Frank, with its daily operation, until his marriage. Mary and John then moved into Willard where she was a substitute clerk for her husband at the Willard post office until his retirement in 1971. She took over the postmaster's position, after her husband's retirement, until her town retirement in 1974. Her husband, John, died on Sept. 27, 1974. She continued to live in Willard until entering an assisted living facility in Marshfield in 1998.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and its C.C.W., K.S.K.J. Lodge 136, the Druzba Club, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and Clark County Homemakers. Mary had many interests, but especially enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, baking, quilting, sewing, crafts, gardening, flowers, singing in the church choir and wood search puzzles.

She will be sadly missed by two daughters, Adeline (Frederick) Krembs of Binghamton, N.Y. and Roberta (Dennis) Karlen of Marshfield two sons, Donald (Susan) Lesar of Muskego and Bernard Lesar of Rushden, Northants, England 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren three sisters, Jennie Krapf of Neillsville, Angela Knutel of Milwaukee, and Ann (Henry) Lamovec of Eau Claire and five sisters-in-law, Mary Koschak of Waukegan, Ill., Josephine Koschak of Orange Park, Fla., Mary Koschak of Greenwood, Agnes Lesar of Willard and Ellen Miklavich of Ely, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents her husband a daughter-in-law, Marion Lesar five brothers, Louis Jr., Ignatius, Frank, Stanley and Ludwig and her sister, Christine Belensky.
