Hoppins, John (15 OCT 1813 - 6 FEB 1882)
Died, at the residence of Horace Turner, near this village
(Neillsville, Clark County), Feb. 6, 1882, John Hoppins, aged 68
years, 3 months and 22 days.
The deceased was the father of Mrs. Horace Turner. He was born in
Vermont. He has been a resident of this locality for several years,
declining age having brought him to receive the care of his
daughter. During his residence here he has ever been in feeble
health, but was never seriously ill until five days prior to his
death. During the time he was known in this community he won the
highest esteem of all who knew him, and his death, even though at a
ripe old age, is generally regretted. Aside from the daughter with
whom his last years were spent, he leaves another daughter, a
resident of Missouri, to mourn his loss.
The funeral took place from the residence of Mr. Turner on Tuesday,
the services having been conducted by Rev. J.E. Webster, of this
place.
