Hughes, James (1808 - 25 JUN 1884)

Died, at the residence of his son Michael, in the town of Grant, Clark County, at 12 noon Sunday, James Hughes, at the age of 76 years.

Mrs. Hughes was a native of Ireland and came to America in 1840 and settled in Canada, where he lived until last fall when he and his wife came to Clark County so as to be with their children. They had seven children, six of whom, five sons and one daughter, live in Clark County, and one son lives in Arizona. His wife still survives him and lives with their son Michael in the town of Grant. His funeral was largely attended on Tuesday afternoon and services were held at the Roman Catholic Church in this city, Rev. Father Voltz officiating.
