Gadbaw, Mrs. Wm. P. (23 SEP 1851 - 16 OCT 1884)
Died, in Neillsville, Clark County, at the residence of Mrs. R.
Bert, Mrs. Wm. P. Gadbaw, aged 33 years and 23 days.
She was born in St. Lawrence County, N.Y. in 1851, and married in
1866. She removed with her husband to Belle Plaine, Minn., in 1869
with rapidly declining health, she sought a home in Wisconsin in
the fall of 1883, and came to reside with her mother in the spring
of 1884. But that much dreaded disease, consumption, had taken deep
hold upon her, so that nothing more could be done than to give her
the tenderest care. All this she had from friends and neighbors,
who had learned to love her for her patience and cheerfulness. A
husband and three children, along with an aged mother, mourn her
loss. Warm friends in Minnesota will hear of her death with sorrow,
and many who know her but rejoice that she died in hope. Her
funeral was attended from the Presbyterian Church on Saturday last,
when a tender trubute was paid to her memory by the pastor, Rev.
W.T. Hendren, who had learned of her worth from her old pastor,
Rev. Chas. Thayer, of Belle Plaine, Minn. "She rests from her
labors, and her works do follow her".
