Grundy, Emily M. (1859 - 19 FEB 1886)
Died, at Corona, N.Y., Feb. 19, 1886, after a short illness, Miss
Emily M. Grundy, only daughter of the late John H. and Martha
Grundy, aged 26 years.
Miss Grundy, with her mother formerly resided in Neillsville, Clark
County, leaving for New York last spring. She was employed as a
teacher in our school, was loved by our pupils for her kindly ways,
and respected and admitted by all who had the pleasure of her
acquaintance, for her sterling qualities of mind and heart. A
widowed mother is now left to mourn a daughter's untimely death,
and two brothers, Charles and Arthur Grundy, are called to weep
over the loss of an idolized sister. Only those who have been
called to mourn on account of the afflictions wrought by the heavy
hand of the fell destroyer of all that is bright and good and
beautiful can fully sympathize with the mourning mother and
brothers in their sad bereavement. Yet it is what all must be
called upon to endure.
