Smith, Mrs. Joseph ( - 9 AUG 1889)
Last Friday morning, Aug. 9, 1889, Mrs. Joseph Smith, living in the town of Albion, near Hatfield, came here to take the morning train for Neillsville, Clark County, to see her sister residing there, who was very ill. Shortly after her arrival she was taken ill with an attack of paralysis, and though all that was possible was done for her, she only lived a few hours. Her remains were taken home, and the funeral services were held in the Smith School house on Saturday, Rev. G. N. Foster officiating.. Mrs. Smith was 55 years old, and leaves a husband to mourn her sudden demise (Merrillan Leader)
