Fortek, Wanda T. (28 DEC 1913 - 12 APR 2002)

Wanda T. Fortek, 88, Thorp, died April 12, 2002, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.  Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Hedwig's Chapel. Burial will follow in New St. Hedwig's Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Thorp Funeral Home with a 7:30 p.m. rosary service and from 9:30 a.m. Monday until time of service at the church.  Cuddie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on Dec. 28, 1913, near Lublin, the daughter of Anthony and Helen (Kijek) Losiewicz. She married Stanley Fortek on June 20, 1936, at All Saints Polish Cathedral, Chicago. He died on Sept. 27, 1971.
The couple farmed near Thorp and operated Thorp Hardware. She was also a member of St. Bernard's-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include two daughters, Elaine (Jack) Gajewski, of Mesa, Ariz., and Virginia (Allan) Christophersen, of Withee five grandchildren eight great-grandchildren and one sister, Sophie (Andrew) Nawrocki, of Boyd.
