Voigtlander, Elizabeth Marie (21 May 1901 - 2 Oct. 1993)
Elizabeth Marie Voigtlander, 92, Colby, Clark County, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 1993, at Colonial House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Colby. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1993, at First United Church of Christ, Colby. Pallbearers were grandsons, David Syring, Larry Syring, Ricky Syring, David Voigtlander, Jim Voigtlander and Art Smith.
Elizabeth Marie Awe was born May 21, 1901, in the Town of Green
Grover, Clark County, to Henry and Fredericka (nee Loos) Awe. She
received her education in the Town of Green Grove. She married
Henry Paul Voigtlander on Aug. 29, 1923, in the Town of Green
Grove. They farmed in the Town of Colby until retiring in 1957, and
moved to Abbotsford. Her husband preceded her in death on Jan. 20,
1964. She moved to Colby in 1971. She was a member of First United
Church of Christ, honorary member of the Women's Guild, Chapter 1
Friends of Sunburst, charter member of the Abbotsford VFW
Auxiliary, and a member of the VFW Post 2227 Women's Auxiliary,
Colby.
Survivors include one son, Henry Voigtlander, Urbana, Ill. one
daughter, Ellen Syring, Edgar 10 grandchildren 15
great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband her parents three sisters,
Martha Kippenhan, Emma Burmeister and Lydia Awe and two brothers,
William and Arthur Awe.
Community Funeral Homes assisted the family with
arrangements.
