Wage, Susannah (1801 - 24 APR 1891)
Mrs. Susannah Wage
died at the residence of her son, Thomas, Wage, at Maple Works,
Clark County, last Friday, April 24th, 1891, after several months
of illness.
Mr. and Mrs. Wage were among the first of the Clark County
Settlers, having come here about thirty-five years ago when the
town of Grant in which they located was an unbroken forest. During
the summer of 1868, Mr. Wage was accidentally killed while logging,
and after a widowhood of twenty-three years, Mrs. Wage has quietly
passed from this life of joys and sorrows, after having nearly
reached the four-score years and ten line. She was a quiet
inoffensive lady, a grand neighbor who delighted in doing good to
others, and whose character commanded the admiration of all her
acquaintances. She leaves two sons, Thomas Wage, of the town of
Grant, Fernando Wage, of the town of Levis, and two daughters
living.
Funeral was from the residence Saturday, conducted by Rev. T. G.
Owen.
