Pododnik, Martha (10 Jan. 1921 - 10 March 1994)


Martha Podobnik, 73, Greenwood, Clark County, died Monday, March 7, 1994, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.


Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 10, 1994, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood. Father Steve Baures officiated. Burial was in Holy Family Cemetery. Nephews served as pallbearers.


Martha Klapatauskas was born on Jan. 10, 1921, in Thorp, to Michael Sr. and Catherine (nee Jazdouskas) Klapatauskas. She received her education at East Side Butler School. She worked at R.R. Donnelley Sons in Chicago as an elevator operator from 1940 1964.


She married Michel Podobnik on Nov. 9, 1964, in Willard. He survives. They lived in Greenwood. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and its PCCW and a member of the Greenwood American Legion Auxiliary Post 238.


Survivors include her husband five sisters, Katherine (Matt) Gregorich, Greenwood Mrs. Mary Fischer, Chicago, Ill. Mrs. Josephine Wind, Chicago, Ill. Frances (Sam) Vallone, Pewaukee and Agnes (Frank) Debevec, Willard three brothers, Julius Klapatauskas, Thorp Mike (Lorraine) Klapatauskas, Marshfield and Charles (Marjorie) Klapatauskas, Withee and many nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one infant brother.


Rinka Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
