Becker, Clarence Sr. (20 OCT 1920 - 28 MAR 2002)
Clarence J. Becker Sr., 81, Loyal, Clark
County, died on Thursday, March 28, 2002, at St. Joseph's Hospital,
Marshfield. Funeral services were held at noon on Monday, April 1,
at St.Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal. The Rev. Roman Kaiser
officiated. A prayer service was held at noon on Tuesday, April 2,
at St. John's Catholic Church, Rubicon. Russell Stommel officiated.
Burial followed in the parish cemetery.
Clarence John Becker was born on Oct. 20, 1920, in Woodland, to
Florentine and Mary (nee Gutschenritter) Becker. He was raised and
educated in the Woodland area. He married Katherine Breuer on June
21, 1947, in Slinger. They farmed near Rubicon. His wife died on
July 28, 1951. He married Dorothy Hesprich on Jan. 8, 1955, in
Lomira. They farmed near Rubicon until moving to Loyal in 1971.
They farmed there until retiring in 1976. He worked as an assessor
for 17 counties until 1985. His interests included spending time
with his family and playing cards. He was a member of St. Anthony's
Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Fatima
Council 4963.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, Loyal two daughters, Louise
(Norbert) Feucht, Mayville, and Mary (Jim) Detweiler, Williamsburg,
Iowa six sons, Steven (Pat)
Becker, Sheboygan, Paul (Amy) Becker, Unity, Norman (Nancy) Becker,
Colby, David (Esther) Becker, Wisconsin Rapids, Clarence Jr.
(Carrie) Becker, Greenwood, and John Becker, Green-wood 24
grandchildren one great-granddaughter one sister, Marie Becker,
Hartford one sister-in-law, Marcella Becker, Hartford and nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents his first wife, Katherine
one son, Allen, in
infancy one brother, Elmer Becker and one brother-in-law, Alfons
Becker.
Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, assisted the family with
arrangements.
