Gehrt, Janette K. (19 FEB 1923 - 15 APR 2002)
Janette K. Gehrt, 79, Loyal, Clark County, died on Monday, April
15, 2002, at her home. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on
Wednesday, April 17, at Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, and from 9 a.m.
until a 10 a.m. funeral service on Thursday, April 18, at the Loyal
United Methodist Church. The Rev. Evan Butterbrodt will officiate.
Burial will be in the Loyal Cemetery. Pallbearers will be
Cliff Hunt, Frank Zank, Byron Zepplin, Russell Cook, Chuck
Neuendorf and Leonard
Noeldner.
Janette Katherine Buelow was born on Feb. 19, 1923, in the town of
York, to Wilhelm and Beatrice (nee Hall) Buelow. She was raised on
the family farm and graduated from Neillsville High School in
1941. She married Everett Gehrt on Nov. 18, 1942, at her
parents' home in the town of York. They farmed in the Pine Valley
area until 1948, when they bought a farm south of Loyal. They
farmed there until retiring in 1983. They sold the farm and moved
to Loyal, where she resided until the time of her death. She was an
active member of the Loyal United Methodist Church, where she was
president of the United Methodist Women, a Sunday school teacher, a
past Sunday school superintendent, and a church board member.
She was a member of the Clark County Homemakers. Her
interests included spending time with her family, sewing,
gardening, cooking and flowers.
Survivors include her husband, Everett, Loyal one son, Carl
(Cindy) Gehrt, Loyal and two grand-daughters, Lena Gehrt, La
Crosse, and Megan Gehrt, Loyal.
Preceding her in death were her parents one daughter, Karen, in
infancy and one sister, Jane Buelow.
Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, is assisting the family with
arrangements.
