Andraska, Richard A. (22 JAN 1919 - 29 APR 2002)
Richard A. Andraska, 83, Loyal, Clark County, died on Monday April
29, 2002, at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen, where he
had resided since February. A Mass of Resurrection was held at
11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, at St.
Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal. The Rev. Roman Kaiser officiated.
Burial was in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery.
Richard Anthony Andraska was born on Jan. 22, 1919, in Marshfield,
to Joe and Caroline (nee Christman) Andraska. He attended school in
Loyal and graduated from Loyal High School in 1936. Following his
education, he worked for J. C. Penney, Marshfield. He was drafted
into the U.S. Army in 1941 and was stationed in Nebraska, Colorado
and Montana. He married Virginia Schreiner on Oct. 17, 1942, in
Lincoln, Neb. Following his honorable discharge, they returned to
Loyal and he spent the next 20 years as the owner/operator of Quick
Cleaners, a Marshfield dry cleaning business. After retiring, he
was the manager of the Loyal American Legion. He was a member of
the Knights of Columbus-4th Degree, the Loyal American Legion, and
St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal. His interests included
hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia, Loyal one daughter, Patricia
(Herb) Curran, Menomonee Falls one son, James Andraska, Onalaska
three grandchildren four great-grandchildren and one sister, Agnes
Sayles, Wausau.
Preceding him in death were his parents two brothers, Barney
and Harold and one sister, Mary Ruddell.
Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, assisted the family with arrangements.
