Steffenhagen, Charles F. (23 JUL 1937 - 14 MAY 2002)
Charles F. Steffenhagen, 64, Spencer, died on Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 17, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. The Rev. Karl Rose officiated. Joan Will was the organist.
Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery, town of Maine, Marathon County. Pallbearers were Alvin Steffenhagen, Lowell Steffenhagen, John Steffenhagen, Dennis Brehm, Chuck Brehm and Michael Brehm.
Charles Frederick Steffenhagen was born on July 23, 1937, in Merrill, to Albert and Elsie (nee Hartwig) Steffenhagen. He attended Naugert grade school and graduated from Wausau Senior High School in 1955. He married Barbara Goetsch on Oct. 3, 1959, at Zion Lutheran Church, Merrill. He worked for V H Automotive, Marshfield, for 18 years. He served on various councils in Spencer and was the chairman of Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. His interests included hunting, fishing, watching his son coach power lifting and football at Galesville, attending his grandchildren's athletic events, and caring for his lawn.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara one daughter, Karla (Dennis) Brehm, Spencer one son, Jon (Paula) Steffenhagen, Galesville two grandsons, Chuck Brehm and Michael Brehm his mother, Elsie Steffenhagen, Merrill and two brothers, Alvin (Bernette) Steffenhagen, Merrill, and Lowell (Marie) Steffenhagen, Merrill. Preceding him in death was his father. Rembs-Kundinger Funeral Home, Marshfield, assisted the family with arrangements.
