Hoffmann, Frank H. (30 DEC 1914 - 17 MAY 2002)


NEILLSVILLE-Frank Herman Hoffmann, 87, of Neillsville, died on Friday, May 17, 2002 at the Memorial Medical Center Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Pastor Timothy Biebert will officiate. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Gesche Funeral Home, and from noon Tuesday until the time of service at the church.

Hoffmann was born on Dec. 30, 1914 in the town of Weston, in Clark County to Frank and Martha (nee Kalsow) Hoffmann. He attended the Globe school and worked as a farm hand until he rented the family farm, where he worked for 14 years. He moved to Granton and operated a Standard filling station. He then moved to Neillsville and worked as a commissioned tank truck driver for the Mobil Oil Company until 1969. He and his brother Carl then worked as carpenters. He built his home at 803 W. Fourth St.

On June 20, 1940, Frank married Ella Foemmel at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Globe.

Frank enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing cards. He was an avid member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Neillsville.

He is survived by his wife, Ella a sister, Ella Hemp of Neillsville and many nieces and nephews.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
