McConnell, Edgar M. (1855 - 14 DEC 1893)
Edgar M. McConnell died at his home on West Fifth St. this Thursday
morning, Dec. 14, 1893, at 8:15 of hemorrhage of the lungs, at the
age of 38 years.
Mr. McConnell has been ailing for a number of years with
afflictions of the throat and lungs. This morning he stated to come
up town, as usual, and when opposite Mr. Schuster's residence was
taken with a severe fit of coughing, which probably caused the
breaking of a blood vessel, and a severe hemorrhage followed. He
stated back for home and reaching there, laid down upon the lounge,
where he died in a few minutes afterward.
Ed, as he was familiarly known by every man, woman and child for
miles around, came to this city some twelve years ago from Wauseon,
Ohio, where his parents are now living, and for a time was in the
employ of Geo. I. Lloyd. In 1881 he stated in the abstract and
insurance business with Louis Schuster, now known as the firm of
Grow, Schuster McConnell. He was married to Miss Jessie Lee in
1885. The remains will be taken to Wauseon, Ohio for burial
tomorrow.
